Back in November 2009 I visited Hunstanton Golf Club In Norfolk on probably one of the windiest days that I’ve ever experienced.

The late evening light was spectacular but on the horizon a very angry sky was quickly approaching from the North Sea. It hit Brancaster Bay with such speed and force that I had to seek shelter in a gorse bush conveniently situated by the 13th Green. I managed to strategically place my umbrella in a position to protect me from the driving rain and 50 mile an hour winds which were relentlessly pounding both me and the course.

As I made myself as comfortable as possible I watched the gusting winds double over the pin on the 13th, at times it was so strong that the flag was brushing the grass on the almost flooded green.

After 30 minutes of constant battering from the elements the storm passed as quickly as it appeared, I pulled myself from the natural shelter of the Gorse bush and readied myself for the dramatic light show that I knew would follow the bad weather.

As you can see from the portfolio of images it didn’t let me down.
