The PGA show In Orlando is the time and place where all of the top brands in Golf show off their new product for the upcoming year.

Because it’s so popular with the European contingency, booking flights into Orlando is becoming increasingly more difficult to arrange. The only way I could guarantee making the show in time was to go a day earlier than the Golf Monthly team, which meant I had a 12 hour turnaround in the UK from my trip to Abu Dhabi.

Surprisingly the jet lag wasn’t too bad and I woke up on the Saturday morning feeling quite refreshed and ready for a round of golf with my good buddy Gary Evans.

However the weather in Florida wasn’t playing ball so we decided to go to Deweys indoor Golf and sports bar for some lunch, a few beers, and a few holes on one of the many simulators.

After golf my job was to check out the rooms for the Golf Monthly team and stock up with supplies!

We use the few days before the show to test equipment and produce videos content of the new product. This year we used the range at the Four Seasons Tranquilo course in Orlando which was ideal as it wasn’t very busy. We also got to play Tranquilo on the Monday afternoon, I took my cameras with me and the course offered up some stunning vistas. It really is one of the top courses in Orlando.

Back to work on the Tuesday with all day being spent shooting the Foremost Videos with Tappers at the Demo day which is held at The Orange County Country Club.

This is the perfect venue for the 1st day of the PGA show, they have a 360% driving range where all of the top brands set up camp and show off their new ranges of golf equipment.

It’s a full on day and just doing a few laps off the range will keep you fit.

The show itself which is held at the Orange County Conference centre is an amazing experience. There’s a constant buzz around the exhibition with PGA pro’s trying out new product, setting up meetings and placing new orders. I had several meetings to attend to so based myself in the Media Centre and finally managed to get onto the floor on Thursday to soak up the atmosphere and get a few pics.

Friday is the last day of the show, the Golf Monthly team left that day, as for me I had another stage of the trip to complete, so for me and my pal and PGA pro Mark Fairhall the fun was just about to begin.
